As a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), Dr. Kottar is in the top 6 percent of general dentists in the country.
Dr. Kottar is a graduate of the highly esteemed Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. He completed his residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and obtained his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) from the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Boston University’s Henry H Goldman School of Dental Medicine. With advanced training in cosmetic solutions, endodontic techniques, complex reconstructive treatment, implant dentistry, and oral rehabilitation, he is dedicated to being a master of his craft.
His career in dentistry follows in the footsteps of his great-grandfather and father who were also dentists in Italy and Argentina, respectively. Their passion for clinical excellence and relentless pursuit of perfection have guided his highly detailed approach to patient care. With a rich family history, Dr. Kottar also is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
While most orthodontists are not board-certified, Dr. Hong has reached the highest standard in her field by achieving Board Certification from the American Board of Orthodontics.
Like her husband Dr. Kottar, Dr. Hong is a graduate of the highly esteemed Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She completed her General Practice Residency at New York Methodist Hospital. With a desire to pursue orthodontics as a specialty, she went on to fulfill her Orthodontic Residency at the equally prestigious University of Pennsylvania. Her specialized training in Orthodontics focused on comprehensive orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages, with a strong emphasis on growth and development for young and adolescent patients, as well as complex, interdisciplinary treatment for adults.
Dr. Hong’s passion for orthodontics began in her teenage years when braces changed her life. As a young girl with a large gap between her front teeth and an "overbite", she was shy, self-conscious, and unsure of herself. Braces transformed her smile and her life, as she became a confident, brave young woman who would aspire to help others experience the same transformation. With a unique upbringing, Dr. Hong is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.
When not serving patients, they enjoy spending time as a family with their young children. They love pursuing knowledge, learning new facts and trivia, traveling, dining out, and being a “foodie” family.
